HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT WORKER
2 Positions
Job Summary:
Works mainly for the Highway Department and all Town Departments which fall under their scope, in a responsible, and courteous manner with the public and all Town employees. Responsible for mowing and maintaining the Town’s properties, parks and cemeteries.
Supervision Received:
Works under the supervision of the DPW Director.
Essential Duties:
• Must be able to perform various standard tasks using a wide variety of manual and powered equipment.
• Must be able to identify and resolve issues and concerns in a timely manner.
• Must be able to perform duties in accordance with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations and within mandated and appropriate safety standards
• Worksites, vehicles and garages must be kept in a clean orderly manner and safely secured at the completion of the work shift.
• Must keep the DPW Director accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems.
• Must attend meetings, workshops and training sessions and review publications as required by the DPW Director to become and remain current on principles and practices and new developments in assigned work areas.
• Must be able to perform special tasks as assigned by the DPW Director.
• Must be able to perform routine maintenance on all Town owned buildings and properties.
• Must report all accidents, to self and/or property, and safety concerns to the DPW Director.
• All employees must represent Wilton in a professional manner.
• Must have a driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
• Must be in physical condition to perform his/her duties.
• All employees must be able to take and pass random drug testing.
• Employee shall perform related, similar, or other logical duties as assigned and may be required to perform duties beyond those contained in this job description.

BUILDING INSPECTOR/CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
The Town of Wilton, NH is accepting applications for a full-time Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer. This position inspects construction throughout the Town to ensure safety and compliance with the adopted NH State Building Code and Town Zoning requirements. The position reports to the Town Administrator. The individual must have a comprehensive knowledge of International, Residential, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical codes for one and two-family dwellings. International Code Council (ICC) certification in Residential Building Construction and experience in the private building sector is strongly desired. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills are a must. Desired qualifications include 2 years of experience as a Building Inspector, Zoning Administrator, or Code Enforcement Officer.
This position also wears the "Health Officer hat".
The position could be part-time for an experienced BI/CEO if desired.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.50 per hour
