We are happy to announce the results of our recent contest to name the Great Blue Heron who frequents the downtown area by the rivers and graces the top of the weathervane on our new gazebo.

All told, 36 names were submitted, and our panel of judges (Alan Preston, Jennifer Beck and Kat Tighe) selected the winner ….Henrietta!

Congratulations to the four folks who submitted this name:  Michelle Alley, Adam Graham, Michaela Griffin and Amelia Volz!  They will receive credit in the new Conservation Commission Natural Resource Inventory Report, which will include Henrietta on the cover!

 Be sure to stop by soon and check out the new gazebo and beautiful cupola and weathervane. Maybe if you look hard, you will even see the real heron by the river!
