Wilton’s historic 1936 Muster Fire Truck was towed by Blanchard Auto Salvage free-of-charge on Friday October 27th from its current location at Louise Caswell's home on McGettigan Road, to a dry barn at Blanchard’s on Greenville Rd. where it will be under cover and protected from the elements.
Blanchard’s Auto Salvage has agreed to store it and allow access to volunteers who can do restoration and repairs, with a goal of having it available for display at Old Home Days next August.
The Muster Truck will remain at this location until the Select Board determines a future, permanent home that will allow for regular public access and viewing.
