Wilton is pleased to announce our new Wilton Community Power Program, a town-operated group purchasing program that pools electric use of residents and businesses in order to provide more competitively priced electricity options, in addition to cleaner energy options.
If you participate in Wilton Community Power, it will change the source and cost of your electricity supply, but will NOT affect the delivery and service of your electricity from Eversource.
Every Wilton household and business should be receiving a letter this week detailing the rates available and the process to enroll. If you are currently receiving electricity from Eversource and want the default Wilton Community Power rate, you don’t need to do anything – you will automatically be enrolled. You can also choose to select a different rate, or opt out altogether.
As seen in the chart below, all of the Wilton Community Power rates are significantly lower than Eversource, even the plans which have a significant percentage of green energy.
There will be a public information session on Monday April 24th at 6:00 p.m. in Town Hall where you can learn more and ask questions. You can also learn more by going to www.wiltoncommunitypower.com.
Thank you to the Select Board, Town Administrator Nick Germain, and the volunteer resident community power committee for bringing this program to Wilton!
